Choose Healthy Office Snacks to Satisfy Your Food Cravings

Every day you battle good and evil food choices. As you walk into the break room, the cartoon devil on one shoulder says, "Eat the doughnut." The angel on your other shoulder says, "Eat the carrot stick."

Here are a few ideas to make it easier to choose healthy office snacks.

  • If you're craving a crunchy treat, try baby carrots or celery sticks.
  • If you're craving a hearty treat, top a whole grain cracker with a piece of smoked salmon.
  • If you're craving comfort food, make a good old peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Better yet, have one slice of whole wheat bread with almond butter.
  • If you're craving a savory snack, have some hummus and olives with whole-wheat pita bread.
  • If you're craving a sweet treat, have a piece of fresh fruit instead of a piece of candy.
  • If you're feeling outdoorsy, make some trail mix with unsalted nuts and dried fruit.
  • If you're craving chocolate, nibble on a half ounce of dark chocolate instead of a whole milk-chocolate candy bar.
